One of the biggest frustrations for any pharmacist, dispenser or buyer is seeing large lists of out-of-stocks lines pile up - or being priced out of buying essential medicines.

Having to re-submit, browse multiple supplier portals, or be on the phone looking for stock without knowing if orders will be successful can be frustrating. And committing staff to resubmitting orders or search to see if prices are going up or down is unsustainable when staffing is spread so thinly.

Some supplier portals tell you if stock is available - or expected to be. But as many portals don't show either pricing or availability, this means bypassing your cascade and leaving yourself open to paying over-tariff - and makes something automatic a manual job.

That’s why our development team have been hard at work creating personalised stock alerts that show you when items you have ordered are back in stock – and personalised pricing alerts that tell you if lines you order are trending up or down in price. And members can see their stock alerts live in e-CASS now!

Let's see how they work.

Stock Alerts

These tell you when stock you still need is now available. You'll see a short list of products that are getting positive responses from suppliers and their date, and which supplier is reporting availability. Click Order to be taken to product info and pricing for that line, where you can add it to an order pad, or order directly with the supplier right away.

Price Alerts

To the right, you'll see a list of price alerts - where you can see when there's large price increases or decreases to your most frequently bought stock. You will see green arrows for when prices are coming down or red when they are increasing. This will help inform you on market trends - act to buy stock that's currently cheap, or potentially hold off on purchasing stock that is on drastic increases.

Relevant, actionable alerts

The most exciting part of our stock alerts is how they are based on what you have ordered. When a product is out of stock on an order through e-CASS via PMR or e-CASS Web, your stock alerts will tell you when it becomes available. As the alerts are based on your orders, you'll only get relevant - and therefore actionable info.

Simply log on to your e-CASS dashboard, see relevant alerts and order the stock you need in the knowledge a supplier has availability.

And as e-CASS data updates every 5 minutes, we are providing you with the most up to date info on availability across a range of suppliers. Rather than the hit-and-hope of countless PMR re-submissions, you can act as and when you need to.

Rather than poring through pages of market data to find info on products you need - you will see if the items you need are going up or down in price - and when your most needed stock is available again.
